Mass Actress Joins New 'Minecraft' Movie With Jason Momoa, Jack Black: Report

Straight off the heels of her second Emmy win, Norwell’s own Jennifer Coolidge joins Jason Momoa and Jack Black in the upcoming “Minecraft” movie.

Coolidge took home her second Emmy award for HBO’s “The White Lotus,” and has now been cast in Warner Bros. Pictures’ new’ movie based on the popular “Minecraft” video game.

The film, directed by Jared Hess, is expected to start production in New Zealand, according to Deadline.

It’s still unclear what the plot of the upcoming movie is, but “Minecraft” has sold more than 300 million copies worldwide and over 140 million active players a month.

Coolidge, who was born in Boston and raised in Norwell, also stars in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series “The Watcher,” and will next join Ed Harris, Pete Davidson, and Bill Murray in “Riff Raff.”

The Emerson alumna is best known for her versatile acting roles in “Legally Blonde,” “American Pie,” and “Promising Young Woman,” which won an Oscar.
